Grape Managment
For the Backyard Grower grapes can be a very rewarding practice. They can be more forgiving to the novice yet very rewarding for the grower. In Ohio, Concord and Niagara are two extremely good varieties. They are considered good juice and eating grapes. Seedless varieties are available also.
Niagara Grapes
As with all fruit cold temperature hardiness is the key to variety selection. However, if you have a favorite variety that is not suggested for your region it won't hurt to try it along with suggested cold hardy varieties. This way you will not wonder if you could have raised your favorite!
